Davido withdraws from custody case as lawyers push back on social media attacks
Afrobeats star Davido has stepped back from his custody case involving his daughter, Imade, saying the legal battle had become too painful.
Davido clarified that he never wanted full custody, only joint custody, and described the court process as stressful, especially after his late son was brought up during proceedings.
“Nobody won, nobody lost but Imade,” he wrote online.
He also criticised the other side’s legal team, claiming unprofessional conduct during the hearings.
In response, the law firm representing Imade’s mother issued a statement warning against public attacks on lawyers. They stressed that the case is still before the court and must be decided based on evidence and law, not social media commentary.
The firm highlighted that threatening or harassing lawyers undermines the justice system.
The custody dispute continues to attract attention, but many fans are calling for both sides to prioritise Imade’s wellbeing and peaceful co-parenting.
