The Federal Government has declared Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, as public holidays to mark Eid-el-Fitr.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.

He urged Nigerians, especially Muslims, to uphold the values of love, peace, tolerance, and generosity practiced during the holy month.

Tunji-Ojo also called on citizens to use the festive period to pray for national unity and celebrate responsibly, while showing kindness to the less privileged.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace and unity across the country.
